WB/IMF Annual Meetings: ESMAP Hailed for Low Carbon Energy Plans and Its Energy Access Program

At the just concluded World Bank/IMF annual meetings, the World Bank hailed several development partners for their support to IDA's energy program. It said, “The Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP) has helped IDA countries build capacity at public energy institutions and helped governments develop plans for low carbon growth.” The World Bank also said Africa Renewable Energy Access Program (AFREA) an ESMAP supported program helped improve public and private sector capacity for renewable energy projects in Africa.
