One of Beijing, China’s leading newspapers – Beijing Daily announced the introduction of measures to ease traffic congestion and movement within the city by Beijing’s Bus Group, one of the World’s largest urban bus companies. The bus company has five rapid transit lines, over 20,000 buses that make about 14 million trips daily. Beijing’s urban public transport system is implemented under the Quality Bus Corridors and Rapid Commuting Mode programs funded by the World Bank, Australian Aid, Asia Sustainable and Alternative Energy Program (ASTAE) and the Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP).
