Lighting Africa has released a video demonstrating how low-income households and small businesses in rural Kenya have switched from kerosene lamps to portable solar lanterns. The video also includes footage of the program’s consumer education campaign in Kenya. Lighting Africa is mobilizing the private sector to build commercial markets for a whole range of modern off-grid lighting products in Africa. To date, close to 1.5 million people have cleaner, safer, better lighting and improved energy access as a result of the work of Lighting Africa and its stakeholders.
