Power Sector Financial Vulnerability Assessment - Impact of the Credit Crisis on Investments in the Power Sector: Arab Republic of Egypt

 

The assessment has found that the global economic downturn and the credit and liquidity constraint situation have had limited immediate impact on the financing of the Egyptian power sector. This is because all major ongoing sector investments are being carried out by the public sector, which obtained financing commitments prior to the crisis. However, financing of new investment in the next five years will be a challenge.
