- DFID, through its Energy and Economic Growth (EEG) programme, in collaboration with ESMAP, is hosting a conference on Grid Reliability and Utility Operations
- The conference is intended to provide a forum for international academics and policymakers to showcase and discuss the latest research relating to grid reliability and utility operations in low- and middle-income countries, including a focus on gender equality and social inclusion issues.
- Research from the EEG programme and ESMAP will be presented, along with other papers identified through this call.

EEG and ESMAP invites you to a Call for Papers and Presentations at the Grid Reliability and Utility Operations Conference. The conference will showcase findings from emerging research on the challenges that utilities in low- and middle-income countries face in delivering reliable, sustainable electricity to customers. Additional information is provided below.

Authors wishing to be considered for the conference should submit full-length papers (even in draft form) or abstracts to eeg@opml.co.uk by November 1, 2019. Accepted authors will be notified by November 15, 2019. For further details, see the full call note.
Topics covered are expected to include: the impacts of unreliable electricity supply and the role of technology and utilities in increasing reliability; the impacts of non-technical losses and the remedial measures available; power sector reform, including tariff setting and market structures; dispatch diagnostics; and the technical and human resource constraints facing utilities.

We aim to also feature relevant research from outside of the EEG and ESMAP programmes and welcome proposals for papers for presentation accordingly.
